review 1: I didn’t think it was possible for this story and these characters to seed themselves more deeply into my heart, but somehow they did. This book took all the pain and heartache of the first book and made it tangible for the reader. As Callie and Kayden are forced to finally give their suffering a voice, their tragedy became unquestionably real and entirely heart wrenching, taking me on a journey of suffering, love and redemption.Jessica Sorensen has orchestrated a breathtaking character evolution with Callie and Kayden. The Callie we see in this book is still scared and broken, but she finds a strength within her that allows her to face her fears and help Kayden do the same. Jessica made sure this character was not only someone you could sympathize with, but someone you ... morecould love, admire, and find your own strength in. Jessica Sorensen revealed a lot of depth to Kayden’s character in this book. The more we got to see inside his head as the truth about his past comes to the surface, the deeper I fell for him. Jessica’s incredibly storytelling made their bond unbreakable in this book. Then there is Seth and Luke who make this story whole. Without them this story wouldn’t have been able to grow wings. I felt so many things while reading this book. I’m not even sure I have words for a lot of the emotions I experienced. At times, Callie and Kayden’s pain seemed insurmountable. My heart broke and shattered for them as I watched the soul-crushing moments of their lives try to bury them. I hurt for them and I hoped for them. The family they created for themselves brought me comfort, while their unwavering loyalty and love put the broken pieces back together. I was riding the waves with these incredible characters, never wanting the journey to end.
review 2: i have loved this story from book one, there are always so many emotions in the story that you laugh, cry and you want to kill. i love Kayden he try's to be so strong for Callie but i think that he needs more support. you sit and read and so many things go through you mind, like how can a parent do that to there child, and how can a parent not question when there daughter changes so much. but then you realize that even parents aren't perfect but at least Kayden is finding help and he will stop that cycle. i respect Callie for being strong and i love how her best friend has been her support you can't help but love Seth. Callie and Kayden have the best people in there life with Seth and Luke the four of them can make it through anything. i think that the book end with the opportunity for a new book about luke and his sister. less
