review 1: I liked the first book in this series and was pleased to see that Gage had his own book. However I could not bring myself to finish this one. Mainly because the heroine was a spiteful bitch and I did not find her antics cute at all. I also think that good doze of reality wouldve been good for her. What was also sad was that the badass Gage from the previous book became a wussy in here.The part were those Charlie Angel wannabes kidnapped Vera and Lulu was pathetic, really. The tigers shouldve easily overpowered them but instead they got drugged. Lulu confessiong her sad little story only because of a hammer doting lunatic? That was just plain sad and embarrassing for all shifters. If Lulu was Gages triplet then she was also over 200 years old and I find it doubtful that she... more would act so weak.On another note(since I didnt finish the book I dont know if the author resolved it somehow) the reason Gage left Elena in the first place was because she was a (weak) human with a short lifespan. When they got together she was Amazon .. meaning still a (somewhat less) weak human with a short life. So actually I did not quite understand why the Amazon aspect helped anything.All in all I was highly dissaponted in this book:( Even though I noticed that the heroine of the next book is Chloe Demos(who didnt really leave a good impression in here), the hero will be Kent so Im really looking forward to the next book.
review 2: **ARC received in exchange for an honest review via Author's Taproom**Another sweet, sexy paranormal read from the girls that are Jessie Lane. Having just read Big Bad Bite about a week ago and being lightly introduced to Gage, I was anxious to get ahold of his story. And thankful I didn't have to wait too long. Walk on the Striped Side was the perfect mixture of humor, mystery, & romance. Elena was burned by Gage once, she wasn't about to let him in again. No matter what he had to say about it. Elena and her sisters were now a forced to be reckoned with in the Other's world. I love her twitch, you'll understand that after you read the story. And her huge obsession with small crawly things!! Gage, being a stubborn mule, knew what he had when he let her go. He just didn't know how hard it would be to live without her. So when she drops back into his lap, he stops at nothing to win her back. And she pulls all stops to put him in his place (quite comically at that). Props to Jessie Lane. I love the interesting story line and the funny, engaging wit they have immersed it in. You'll be laughing in one breath in swooning in the next. I can't wait to get more from the Other's in Book 3!! We get to see Kent finally fall. And it's going to be epic. ~Amy TTP less
