review 1: I actually did enjoy this book quite a bit. It was funny and silly and a very light happy read. I wasn't too pleased with the ending. I wanted Lola to be with the Nick. I thought they got on a lot better than Dougie and Lola did. Also it's sometimes a bit ridiculous how far Lola goes to stalk Doug. That adds to the comedy for some time but at sometimes it goes a biiit too weird. I did really enjoy Sally's character. Her crush on Lola's dad was a bit random though. Overall, a solid 3 out of 5.
review 2: I was tempted to give this book a five but there was two reasons I didn't.1) I am a fan of steamy romance scenes and Jill Mansell left EVERYTHING to the imagination. Not a bad thing but just didn't suit my personal preference.2) Despite doing a fairly good job of
... more developing the rest of the characters. Dougie, the main love interest remained at arms length to the audience throughout the whole book. I would have appreciated a few scenes from his point of view or just something to make him a bit more visible in the story. That being said, this story had some very original and very comical dialogue as well as over the top characters that I could relate to. And of course the happy ending. I would highly recommend this book to contemporary romance lovers looking for a bit of humor. less
