review 1: Many middle novels in trilogies fail to increase the odds against the protagonists. This one does not fail. It raises the odds of failure and shoves in enough plot twists to keep things more than interesting all the way through. In fact the only thing wrong with this book is that the third one in the series is not out yet and I've got the whole story suspended in air waiting for some shoes to drop. Excellent writing by Jill Williamson - as usual. Buy it and read it! I want company in my misery! ;)
review 2: Jill Williamson has done it yet again! The story continues where Captives left off and setting it up for Rebels (the third book) to take off running. I stared reading and ended up in Safe Lands itself as Omar, Mason, Shaylinn, and Levi, along with everyone, ... moreas they struggle with life. Each character ends up dealing with worldly problems and fight to understand what’s right and wrong. I don’t want to get into too much more detail for fear of giving anything away. I do warn parents that there may be sensitive information to younger readers, therefore I suggest the book for anyone older than 16, unless the parent has already read Outcast. As I’ve stated earlier, the characters deal with very world dilemmas. I was greatly disappointed that I had finished Outcast and will have to wait until fall for Rebels. I’ll be adding this amazing book to my shelf and lending it out to anyone who is interested. less
