review 1: I cannot say enough about this series of books. I have found them to be engaging, depressing, elating and just downright joyous! I think that these books are a demonstration of just what an awesome writer Jill Williamson is. They show an alternate world view of living the Christian life better than almost any books I have ever read. I cannot recommend these books more highly than to say I think that everyone who enjoys great storytelling on an epic scale should read them. I stayed up way too late on way too many consecutive nights reading because I could not stop reading. That takes a lot for me. Books rarely grab me so completely. I am still amazed and a tiny bit depressed because they are over with. I hope there are sequels so I can visit Er'Rets a... moregain.
review 2: I loved the first two books in Jill Williamson’s, Blood of Kings series. In fact I stayed up late at night paging through the books screen by screen on my little cell phone. I devoured the books. There is no way to sit back and enjoy the ride at a slow peaceful pace with these books. The plot flows at a breakneck speed, making it hard to keep up sometimes. Much like life, you just need to hold on with both hands and take a moment to look around and breathe a bit before it all starts again.I was blown away with the beauty of this story. Woven with a painstaking depth and integrity through the lives of several major characters, this tale has something for everyone. Young men will love the character of Achan. Fiery and ready for a battle, he is a good example of how to follow God with all of your heart, even when your heart may want to lead you elsewhere.Vrell is a stubborn beautiful young woman who is easy to identify with as she struggles with temptation. Her thoughts often lead her astray and she has to handle the very real possibility that she may have sabotaged her own future with the wrong thoughts and ideas.You want adventure? Battles roar through this book. You want romance? Heart pounding romance wraps itself around the story and weaves its way so deeply into the plot that you cannot wait to turn the page and see what happens next.If you enjoyed the first two books in the Blood of Kings series, I guarantee you’ll love this one. If you haven’t yet had the pleasure of reading, make sure you pick up all three books in the series at once. You’ll want the next one within arm’s reach as you finish them.From Darkness Won is a gorgeous finale for this series.
