review 1: I did like this story but it did have elements that didn't gel for me. Luke was so very immature and the way he let his family dictate and rule him was just off for me, he could cry at the drop of a hat like a toddler. Luke's family are just vile people.I liked Cooper from the start but the way he got Luke to live with him seemed a bit forced and rushed. These two men are at the opposite ends of the scale Cooper is big muscular covered in tattoos knows who he is. Luke on the other hand came across as small shy weak didn't know himself, in his mind having thoughts for another man was disgusting. Both these men have issues, but together they find a way through. This book didn't fill me with any sort of emotions like maybe Rush did by Nyrae Dawn,.This whole story was told from ... moreLuke's point of view, I think maybe if we had some of the story from Cooper's point of view it would have balanced out the immaturity at times.
review 2: This book was pretty awesome for so many reasons. Both Cooper and Luke are great characters with interesting pasts. Cooper is pretty damaged from a secret in his past, but Luke is damaged from his family. This book is also interesting because Luke is a virgin, and normally books with m/m relationships have the partner work through that issue with the boyfriend. Yes, this book does do that, but only after Luke has some exploration of his own. I liked that a lot, because it just made the characters more realistic for me. I would read more from this author, and I'd definitely read more about Luke and Cooper. less
