review 1: Meet Lindsay Fuller..Single Mom…Almost 30…Almost jobless…almost homeless…It just doesn't get better. I have exactly four things going for me. No more. No less. My son, Trey, my dad, and my over-opinionated gay younger brother, Brian. Oh, and, uh, this other…thing. A long-standing friendship with a person I can never have but could quite possible be utterly and irrevocably in love with. We have this thing and it’s crazy but we keep coming back to each other. Day after day.So she’s had a “friendship” with Russ since forever and they've never met..they don’t even know what the other looks like. But it works for them. They rely on each other. They are each others on line bff’s. She’s in a slump. She’s about to get evicted and decides to pay the owners... more a visit to maybe plead her case. She just needs a chance. What she doesn’t know is that sitting behind that desk is the one person she never thought she would lay eyes on. After all that is what they agreed to, or at least that is what she agreed to. Except gone is her best friend and supporter and in place is a grade An asshole.Their first meeting is off the chart. It’s hard to look at him but damn, it’s even harder not to. He’s gorgeous. Light brown hair, short on the sides and longer on the top. Chiseled cheekbones with a defined jaw to match.. His lips are begging to be bitten. Just thinking of them has heat tingling my cheeks. What stand out the most is the color of his eyes. They’re hypnotic, a shade I’ve never seen before. A green like the inside of a kiwi. It’s…distracting.>/b>I stare at him, trying to wrap my brain around the fact that Russ, my Russ is standing here in a n expensive suit telling me that I have thirty days to get the hell out. He’s not at all how I imagined he’d be. He’s TROUBLE.When Russ finally figures out that this is ‘his’ Lindsay he pulls out all the stops. He has a ‘proposition” for her -spend 30 days with him. He wants to prove his love for her. Thirty days and then all debts will be paid. Can she do it, should she do it?My heart belongs to him, but the rest of me doesn’t. I’m not his girlfriend. I’m not his wife. I’m his long-term chat friend whom he has propositioned to date for thirty days. I have no naïve notions about who or what I am. I can try to lie to everyone else all day long, but I can't lie to myself.Only time will tell if the saying, “love affairs are better when started out of friendship” is real or just a myth.
review 2: OH! LINDSEY! If a heroine ever needed a hug and a knight in shining armor it is our girl Lindsey. She is a strong, sassy and lovable single mom with an adorable son and a string of bad luck. Her online relationship with Russ is about to get real real fast! J.L. has a way with words to weave a sexy, charming, angsty and sexy (its worth writing twice) story. Grab this novella and give Lindsey a hug for me. Five wonderful stars. less
