review 1: Wreck Me by J.L.Mac I read a lots of books in many genre. So even though as a guy this is not the typical book you would expect me to read, I did. This particular book I listened to as an audiobook and before I go on to the book itself I want to praise the woman that read it, Veronica Meunch. She was awesome and if I had any audiobooks I would want her to read them. She made the book come alive with her reading. So Kudos to Veronica. Okay, moving on. The following is done WITHOUT SPOILERS.Wreck Me starts out by wrecking the reader. I found myself instantly connecting with the character of Joe (Josephine) [reviewer note: pardon any misspellings of names I listened to it so I don’t know how they are spelled.] The compelling story of someone that experiences a profound e... morevent so young in life coupled with the mysterious man that enters her life as an adult was intriguing. Damon is mysterious and driven. His instant attraction to Joe is somewhere just this side of uber creepy stalker and a part of me waited for an ugly turn that never came. He is the post that intense is tied to apparently. ;) Nevertheless his fascination with her is genuine and their twisted dance of angst, pain and heartbreak keeps the story compelling.The story is simple enough. Girl meets boy, boy likes girl. Shenanigans ensue. Though the plot is simple it is not simplistic by any stretch of the imagination. I found the tale to be well paced and balanced for the read. The characters that Mac chooses are each well defined and multifaceted so as to engage the readers imagination. As a reader the two highest forms of praise that I can give is to recommend a book to a friend and read a sequel if one exists. I would recommend this book to anyone that likes strong female characters, romance, or just a good read. And I will be listening to the sequel.
review 2: I knew that Damon was gonna be involved somehow with the accident but I didn't know he figured it out that soon! I think going in to the relationship he originally was all in for a one night stand and then he realized who she was and wanted to make it up to her! I think they had a spark from the beginning but I thought Damon was a little to fast to make her his but since he knew early on who so she was it makes total sense now! I don't like how it ended! Obviously he's ok since there are 2 more books but I still don't like the cliff hanger!! less
