The plot is completely believable as Mary Rose's daughter, Naomi, comes to terms with her past and her present. Just when you think the story is winding down, Joan Hall Hovey has one more yank of the chain. A determined lady, suspense, a hint of romance, family squabbles, and more. What's not to like. Written well, in the tradition of Mary Higgins Clark.
review 2: The story begins as the main character Naomi is sitting in the hospital at the bedside of the only family member she truly cares for and her best friend, her Mother. Soon her Mother passes and her cruel Aunt decides to publicly announce that Naomi is adopted. A fact that Nao... moremi's mother never told her. Soon Naomi learns the horrible truth of her existence. Her birth mother was raped and beaten to such a point that she was in a coma. Sadly her birth mother was pregnant from the rape and miraculously Naomi was born with her birth mother in that state. Naomi hopes to seek vengence for the death of her birth Mother and delves into a time before she was born and into the life of Mary Rose. Naomi struggles to prove that her father the man who in essence murdered her Mother is the right person. The Abduction of Mary Rose is an edge of your seat novel. I read this book in one day and wanted more. I have never read any other books by this author but this one will not be the last. less
