review 1: First I must say that I didn't know that this was a second book in a series so my issues may have been resolved if I had read book one.I really really wanted to love this book and I did truly loved parts but not enough that I can give this novel more than 3 stars. Both Clarissa and Logan's characters were way under developed and for me that was so disappointing because they had potential to be ranked in the all time favorite h/h category. One minute Clarissa is never sleeping with Logan he is referenced as a playboy fast forward one chapter and they are having sex like bunnies (which mind you I enjoyed) but, how did they get from one extreme to the next so quickly. There was in no way any background information on why, how, or what a familiar is or any background on Lo... moregan and Rissa's witch and shifter abilities. I would think that even for a person reading this in order you would get a bit of a refresher. I know nothing of the author or the series but I wouldn't be surprised to find out this is infact expanded from fan fiction. It just read that way.Saving this from the 2 stars was the ending, for me TSYW really hits a stride about 70% in. I loved the idea of Seven and his "multiple" selves, Envy, Lust, etc. I also appreciated the connection Logan has with Clarissa and how he can seek her soul out because of his shifter wolf. I'm going to look into Jodi Redford and may even go back and read book one. I did enjoy this book and who knows I may have loved it if I read book one.
review 2: After just finishing That Voodoo You Do, I got the pleasure of reading the next book in the series.Bravo, Jodi Redford! You did it again.I read this book in less then 10 waking hours.Couldn't. Put. It. Down.In this book, Clarissa and Logan are falling in love. Logan knows it. Clarissa is avoiding it.After getting a note from Seven, the person she sold her soul to seven years ago, Clarissa is faced with the fact that she has 7 days left to live.I love the interaction with Clarissa's father and the reason she is under contract with Seven is heartbreaking. When Clarissa decided to try to save others from his contract, I cheered for her!Jodi's way of including the seven deadly sins was wonderful. The descriptions of all of the multiple personalities of Seven,Lust, Envy, Gluttony, Wrath, Sloth, Pride and Greed, were amazing. She really seems to capture them well. The seduction between witch and wolf is amazing. [I love a good smutty book!]You never forget that Logan is a wolf.I can't wait to read the next book in That Old Black Magic series.I rate this book 4/5 stars. less
