review 1: I received a copy of Naughty Bits II from Netgalley in exchange for my honest review. Not sure what I was thinking when I requested it. I do not like serials and I really wouldn't want to start with part 2. That said, I really was surprised about how much I liked NB2. It essentially stands on it's own. I have read individual stories which have given me less than this serial installment did.Minor "What's going on?" when it starts, but you quickly pick up that Madison has been invited to participate in a BDSM session with her shop's neighbor (and that she inherited the shop after her sister died and that Madison has relationship issues). Of course, Logan is a hunk and a half of Dom sexiness and Madison participates a little more than she thought she would.What makes me... more recommend this installment (and want to give the rest of the serial a read) is that the sexiness is actually amped up (no pun intended...you have to read why)because Logan and Madison actually talk. They are curious about each other and this helps notch up the chemistry.So, for a quick, hot read with a couple of unusual BDSM scenes (nothing too strong)I do recommend NB2 and am looking forward to parts 3 and 4.
review 2: **ARC courtesy of publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review**As a huge fan of Joey Hill, I was thrilled to try an new series by this talented author. This series is much lighter than her Nature of Desire series, and is a great gateway to BDSM and Joey Hill as an author. Hill's books are always really well written and she brings her characters to life, so that the reader is witnessing the story. This remains true with the Naughty Bits series, about Madison who has inherited a lingerie/sex store from her late sister. The store is next door to the local hardware store owned by Logan, who is a Dom and is helping Madison discover the submissive in her. The character of Troy who works at the hardware store is sweet and caring with Madison, and a male submissive being trained by Logan for his mistress. This training give Madison some great insight inter her own desires and needs. Although this is a quick read, it lingered in my mind not only with what will happen to these characters in the next series, but also revisiting some of the scenes in my mind. Ms. Hill has the ability to create strong images in my mind with her phenomenal talent and well scripted books. I like this series as it is a different dynamic then her previous series, and gives us another perspective of not only Joey Hill, but of the BDSM world. less
