review 1: Great read if you are open to being stretched from both a scientific and theological perspective. Very difficult topic to address because there are extremists on both sides of the discussion. If you are an atheist who is a scientist then you don't see any relevance for a discussion about beginning questions or what part does God or god have to do with science. If you are a Christian and a scientist it is also very easy to dismiss the hard questions of a Stephen Hawkings. Lennox does a excellent job of unfolding in a logical fashion the real argument and opens up the dialogue to see that you can be a scientist and a Christian without dumping your brain in the trash! It is a must read for both the pagan scientist and philosopher and the faith community.
review 2:
... more John Lennox is probably the best-qualified person for the public defense of Christianity on the planet. In this little booklet he delivers a thorough walloping to Steven Hawking in virtually every imaginable realm: mathematics, science, history, philosophy and theology. It is to me a tragedy that so many people will read Hawking's book and so few will read Lennox's, which far and away surpasses the former in offering an intellectually acceptable position on the debate between religion and science. less
