review 1: I was really impressed with the beginning of this book. However, once into the main body of the story, I found that it didn't consistently stay at that same level of awesomeness that it promised in the first chapter or so. This isn't to say that there weren't some really great moments throughout the book, but it just generally didn't finish with the same punch as it started. I'll still probably read the rest of the series.
review 2: Reader beware: an advanced degree in math is required to understand half this book. I liked this book up until the last 20 pages. The ending was awful.
