review 1: This is an anthology of the first year of Lightspeed, an online magazine which features science fiction and fantasy stories. I'm not sure I should really count this as a book read (although I am anyway), as I had already read all the stories online, so only read my favorites in the book. I enjoyed many of the stories enough to read them again (Ursula Le Guin's particularly stands out). Recommended either for those who already enjoy Lightspeed but want it on paper, or for those who would prefer to give the magazine a try on paper because they don't like reading online.
review 2: What a great collection. From science fiction grand masters to new faces the authors collected in this anthology were phenomenal. I can easily say that only a couple of the short storie... mores in this collection were not enjoyable. Most were very good and some were even great and there was a wide range of styles represented as well. Highly recommended, going to check out the magazine the anthology is based on right now. less
