review 1: Picked this up at a truck stop on audiobook, without knowing anything about it. I thoroughly enjoyed the story, even given how violent the ending is. The concept of space-faring humans using fallen gods to power their ships drew me in pretty quick, as that's not something I've ever encountered in 20 years of reading science fiction novels. The pacing was perfect, the characters had amazing amounts of life and depth for how short the story is. I've already recommended it to a few people.

Like an aside from a larger more detailed tale. I'm left uncertain if I would rather it stay it's own little interesting aside or if it could blossom into something of deeper interest if pursued further. Overall, I wouldn't put it up there with my favorites, but it was a fun read. less

Great concept. I enjoyed this novella but would have loved a more deeply explored universe here.

Short but sweet. Some interesting ideas put forward on Faith and belief.
