review 1: I really enjoyed this book and I related to the family's dysfunction! I liked that the story was told from the youngest daughter's point of view. The pace of this books story seemed consistent and the ending was a little bit of a surprise or unexpected. I am not sure if I would have liked it as much as I did if I haven't gone through some personal tragedies myself. All in all, pretty decent book- good read! review 2: Thought it was heading one way, but the plot line shifted. I think the author did a good job of maintaining suspense. Seemed like some similar plot devices as the other reviewer noted, re: the Warrens (esp. like The Conjuring), but turned out differently. Thought the ending was a little contrived--no spoiler here, but...really? However, loved the w... moreriting, loved the character of Sylvie... Would still recommend it. less
