review 1: A delightful collection of short stories focusing within the fantasy genre.Rick Riordan tells of another of Percy Jackson's adventuresD.J. Machale's, The Scout, made me curious as to whether sucking on a pebble actually activates the salivary glands to keep the mouth moist or if I'd ever be in a situation where it'd be necessary to test it.The Dirt On Our Shoes by Neal Shusterman was one of my favourites as it was exceptionally developed in that it was also relatable.All were creatively delivered with unique story lines, each being different to the next. Some stories were a tad juvenile, for example Rise Of The Roboshoes, so the age bracket of 9+ was accurate however older readers can find enjoyment within the pages.
review 2: First of all, this book is very go... moreod for children who like science fiction and teenagers who wanna start reading. What I like most is The Dirt on Our Shoes story. It brought some shock to me when I knew what happened to the colonists in T-Bin. And then Rick Riordan's Percy Jackson amused me so much with Apollo's appearance in front of Percy and Grover asking for a 'little' favor. That little favor made Percy hanging upside down in Times Square billboard.I'll never forget Frost and Fire by Ray Bradburry. For me, it's very amazing to see humans can only born and live for seven days in a planet next to the sun. And as a girl, I really like, Spark in Bouncing the Grinning Goat story. I mean, wow, bouncing a tavern is not an easy job, but Spark can manage it and even save the whole town.What about The Warlord of Recess story? Where bunch of aliens landed on a school yard and is being outsmarted by two nerds of that school. Two thumbs up for this story.I really look forward to read other Guys Read books. This is truly an inspiring book. less
