review 1: Michael K does not know what to think but he does know how to make an odd situation feel normal, sort of anyway! Being the new kid in school is always a challenge...being surrounded by other new kids, who are noticeably strange turns out to be an exciting adventure that Michael K comes to enjoy. This book draws in even the most reluctant of readers. The only part I regret is not having Book2 at the ready. Music to a mom's ears is when your child says "awww I wish we had the next book..I want to keep reading!" THAT is a GREAT book, in my opinion!
review 2: This book was clearly written to make money and not to be a book that sticks around for very long. All of the commercial references will be lost on readers in a few years. Some of them are already old. ... moreThe plot was a bit cliché, and other than the strange layout, this book was not very creative. Kids will be drawn to the aliens in the book and maybe the cartoonish font, but it probably won't be a favorite book of very many. It's very forgettable. less
