review 1: This book made me think! I can't underscore enough just how much it gave me to think about in regard to how people with opposing views act towards one another; how I act with those who hold differing opinions. Society's ability to engage in civil and respectful discussions about politics, religion, etc. has diminished so far and this book gave me much to consider (not all of it optimistic) about how that might possibly change. For me, it gave me perspective and insight that I hope I can apply in my own life. I will certainly incorporate aspects of this book into my university courses. Great read!
review 2: This is a well-written book that methodically builds its case. It is mostly an enjoyable read--there's plenty of cool studies discussed that look into the

Strong arguments (that work *if* you can buy into an intuitionist point of view, which Haidt works on in the first few chapters) on how our morality evolved, the major domains it's concerned with, and how that proceeds to affect our politics. less

Interesting analysis and redefinition of the basis for ethics driven by evolutionary psychology.
