The Carnivia Trilogy
review 1: A body of a woman dressed as a priest opens this brilliant book. Venice is the setting, and almost a character to herself - worth reading for the evocative portrayal of the city alone. Add to that the complex characters Kat Tapo and Holly Boland , strong women who stop at nothing to solve a crime that turns into a conspiracy. Plus Carnivia, a website where anonymity is guaranteed, with its haunted creator, Daniele. Clever storytelling & makes me want to head for Venice. Brilliant.
review 2: This just misses 4 stars. I bought this because it was a special, 99p on amazon & I did really enjoy the story. It's a murder mystery set in Venice with 3 main plots which all come together. The story encompasses a murder with computer hacking, trafficking & atrocities from
... morethe war in the former Yugoslavia. The book is the 1st of a trilogy & I already have the second. Good characterisation & interesting plot lines. Even the mafia made an appearance. Definitely 3 & 3/4 stars. less

A serviceable conspiracy thriller that didn't live up to the promise of its opening chapters.
