review 1: I got this book as a free e-book from BookBub. Wasn't expecting much, but it was actually a pretty good story. There were a number of grammatical errors, which irked me a bit, but I read through it pretty quickly because it was suspenseful and fun. Science-fiction is one of my favs, so this was right up my alley. Not very predictable and had a good conclusion. MIght read some of this authors other stuff.
review 2: I loved this book, and I'm not really a fan of Syfy. I picked up this book only because it is from the Book of Deacon series author. I'm really glad that I did. The book mixes a guy that is down on his luck, a mad scientist, with a corporation out to ruin the universe. The story is highly inventive, funny, and a great adventure. I did tend to get
... morea bit bogged down in the descriptions of all the various machinery in the book, but again, I'm not a syfy fanatic. I had my hubby read it, who is a tech fanboy. He absolutely loved it! So, all in all, we both loved it! Hats off again to Mr. Lallo, as I look forward to the next book in this series too. less
