review 1: I loved the other books of this writer, but this ... I wanted to throw the protagonist down from a cliff every two pages: I think it's more due to the fact that I grew up in a family of pessimists and the constant complaints bore me endlessly: they are my family and i love them for their thousand other qualities...but the MC? I have not seen other qualities that could save him in my eyes and he has thus become an expression of what I can not stand in people (except for my family, of course!).Stan ... from the description given by the MC I would say that I could get attached to him, if only he had more space within the book. I would have liked his POV, and usually this writer gives both POV in her books so ... let's say that I expected it. I think it would have helped, but ... moreeventually It would have also helped eliminate part of the story of the market and some sex scenes, since the two MC have not talked much to each other ... and I believe this hasn't allowed to express on paper the reason why, even though they had followed their dreams in the last five years, they still claim to love each other...mostly Stan, because I think years ago he has made the right decision (not because I dislike the MC!), because if you come to hate your lover because you can not achieve your dream with him and this make you sick ... Stan could be one of my favorite characters created by this writer, but then he came back and started with the recriminations! Why ?! Make a decision and then continue to keep it ... so maybe I could think that the final choice of the MC is not so forced ...Well, three stars because it is a nice idea, because it is original and well written. However I will continue to read other works of this writer!
review 2: Slow burn second chance story set in the lovely spa town of Bath. I loved that it took place during the Christmas market, I have visited a couple of times over the years and the manic crush of people around the huts, the atmosphere and the smells of mulled wine are all described wonderfully!I love Riley and Stan and that they had a second bite of the relationship cherry. Riley is quirky, sassy and the official model for fun underwear at the office party! Stan is a little more reserved, prefers to be surrounded by nature, but very obviously head over heels for Ri. But, sometimes in life, it's simply not enough to chase the money and prestige, sometimes you just need to wake up and be happy....relationships are all about the compromising....something that Riley finally understood, but I think the 5 year gap added a little maturity to his thinking too.A sweet epilogue finished the story at 90%………nice, easy read. Recommended. less

Laugh-out-loud funny. What a joy to read; exactly what I needed to get me in the Christmas spirit.

Nice. Josephine Myles's books are usually solid three-star reads for me.
