review 1: Not quite the mystery/page turner I was hoping for. It was intriguing but a bit long winded for me. I got frustrated and impatient as I read and the recipes interwoven throughout many chapters just didn't catch my attention. After a while, hey started to detract. I'm hosting the book club discussion for this month so I'll most likely make her pumpkin roll recipe. And I'll try to see the book in a new light as we discuss this culinary mystery.
review 2: So I wish I'd read this before I read Banana Split. This is book 6 of the series. Banana Split is book 7. Things would have made a LOT more sense. Oh well. This book was freaky! Totally different vibe from Blackberry Crumble. It was twisty and turny and supernatural and stalky all at once. Interesting. I... more liked it well enough to want to give book 8 a go. (since I already read book 7)Still wish the libraries had the first 4 books of this series as the character history would be exceptionally helpful. Oh well. less
