L.A. Noire: The Collected Stories
review 1: When I began listening to this, I did not realize it was going to be a collection of short stories so I was disappointed when I learned it was not going to be completely about Marilyn and Elizabeth. However, like with most collections of short stories, some were wonderful, some were really bad...I hated the one about the hyenas but loved the one about Marilyn and Elizabeth and the last one about the prison.
review 2: This was my first foray into Oates. She is certainly an acquired taste, and this collection isn't for those who like their stories wrapped neatly in a nice little bow at the end. But there was beauty in the confusion and ambiguity, and power in her prose. This was a great example of Gothic literature: most of the pieces were quite disturbing, and
... moreall were morbid. I enjoyed the fact that I had to revisit some passages a number of times, because the lines between fantasy and reality were so blurred and indistinct. LOVED the title story: I now feel like getting my hands on 'Blonde' as soon as possible. less

A collection of weird short stories. Some were interesting weird. Others were just weird.
