review 1: I found this to be a too short introduction to the series. You don't really get to find out much about the characters at all; the story just quickly runs down the details of this world, then you get the main vampire mating scene, and the short intro to the characters of the upcoming books in the series. I know this is meant as a quick intro for the series, but it really is too short. You don't get any sense of what the characters for this story are like, their full backstory...so it feels incomplete.I actually read this after I had read Ethan's Mate so I already knew the background for this world, so this book kind of fell flat for me.
review 2: Oh just the perfect prelude to start the series, we get a chance to see a mating ritual and what a ritual this is,... more super hot story, but yes its short, its like finally finding a nice bar of chocolate only to have it snatched away after your first bite!! PUN INTENDED, however this scope helps us understand about what the stories will be about, we are of course introduced to our favourite Hale Brothers (Nathan, Ethan, Rory, and Liam) who thankfully will each get their own books.I give this a 4 star rating. great characters and of course ITS FREE!!!
