review 1: The Moses Expedition is the first book I’ve read by author Juan Gomez-Jurado and a book that I bought on a whim. After reading the dust jacket it appeared to be something similar to a book Dan Brown would have written, being that there is an artifact that is recovered after World War II that unlocks the location of the Ark of the Covenant.Diving into the book I really appreciated the style it was written, short chapters which often bounce between time periods or character’s points of views. However, I was let down that the item recovered in the first chapters of the book, the candle stick, was not really expanded on. It was almost like Jurado skipped over developing some of the stuff that would have made the book a bit more interesting and was really attempting to writ... moree a book with as must action and adventure as possible.Throughout the book, there is also a who done it feel to it, which creates a mystery around who the terrorist is that is attempting to derail the expedition. If you can figure out who it is before the book ends, I give you props, because for me I was not sure.Overall, I loved the book and have already purchased God’s Spy which is Juan Gomez-Jurado’s first book with several of the same characters in it.
review 2: A group of people, who are not who they appear, go after the possible secret burial spot for the Ark of the Covenant.This is a fast-paced, well-written book that kept me reading . While I didn't necessarily root for some of the main characters, I was pleased at how well the story held up and finished before I got tired of it. It would be interesting to read another of Gomez-Jurado and see if he continues to write as well as this one. less
