review 1: This is one of those books that just didn't talk about the things I was interested in! I checked it out for the 50's New York and Broadway setting, but it was much more about the mob and family stuff. And a lot of the characters just weren't very pleasant people to read about it.So, mostly, I just didn't get what I wanted out of it. Not the book's fault, but it didn't make me very interested in what it WAS either.
review 2: I sometimes have a hard time getting into historical fiction books like this, but Strings Attached really pulled me in and made me a fan. Kit Corrigan has always wanted to be a Broadway dancer and so she runs away from Providence and tries to make a name for herself. But things are not always what they seem and her former boyfriends father
... more makes her a deal she cant refuse, and that starts a wild ride of intrigue and murder.Strings Attached is set in New York City in the early 1950's and you really feel drawn into the time period and Kit's life as a struggling dancer and later as a chorus girl. The levels of drama and deceit are amazingly complex and keeps you guessing. If you have wanted to try a novel in this genre, give this a try. less

A decent enough read, but I didn't find it horribly compelling.
