review 1: I’ve never read about genies and this was a refreshing read. We have suspense and intrigue and some teenage romance going on. It was sweet to watch Jen and Leo interact and I was pleased they weren’t swooning over each other. The ending wasn’t predictable but it kind of just presented itself on its own without any major conflict. We have Jen and Leo searching for the person who framed Leo’s dad and that mysterious black Lexus one moment and the next there he is walking right into their arms. It would be interesting to read the sequel since Leo and Jen decided they’re going to keep seeing each other despite the fact it’s forbidden to them but I don’t know if there is one.

... morelightful read. In this book, her heroine is a teenage genie. Yep, like the kind who used to be trapped in bottles. That's not true anymore, but the bestowing of three wishes is still one of their talents. Jen is certainly not your typical genie. She can only grant wishes when someone racks up enough Karma points, but even that keeps her pretty busy and interferes with her social life in high school. What she really wants to do is play drums in her brother's band, and she thinks she may have a chance when his drummer quits. But then Leo shows up. Not only is Leo a good drummer but he is also--gasp--another genie. Fraternization between male and female genies is frowned upon by the U.N.I.V.E.R.S.E., the organization that regulates genies, so Jen is taking quite a chance when she agrees to help Leo save his dad from being banished to the other realm for crimes he didn't commit. I won't give away any more of the plot, but I can assure you that it's entertaining and well worth your time. less
