review 1: Rose has everything. A lovely house, beautiful children and a wonderful husband. Unexpectedly, her old best friend Polly shows up, and comes to stay with Rose and her family with her two children. Slowly, odd things start happening, and we enter the chilling idea that Polly may not be what we think she is. Rose annoyed me as a character, she was too forgiving, never said anything to Polly and always forgave her even when she left her pills lying around, and Roses' baby swallowed them and almost died. A difficult book to put down, very tense, with an accurate portrayal of family life gone wrong. I'd say this is her best book.
review 2: Having read the blurb and other people's reviews of this book I expected it to be full of twists and turns and lots of psycologi
... morecal events. Wrong. I didn't find anything psycological, no 'thriller' in it's words. Polly I expected to be some sort of nutter but nothing happened to even make you think that. The most tense part was when the baby was taken ill and you knew that happened from the blurb. Total disapointment. less
