review 1: What a hot mess! I am so glad to be done with this book. I thought it started out really great, but the more I read, the more I felt there was just waaaaay too much going on. I don't want to go into too much detail and give spoilers, so I'll just say that I felt like the author tried to introduce too many storylines that didn't have any purpose and that went nowhere. There were so many loose ends that still didn't make sense to me in the end, and I felt like an attempt to wrap the story up happened way too quickly in just the last few pages. I really had a hard time forcing myself to pick this book up, even when I had previously left off at parts that were supposed to be suspenseful. Do yourself a favor and skip this one.
review 2: A solid 3 stars, about
... morewhat I expected. Some really well done characters and also a lot of minor characters that seemed to blend together, thus taking away from the story a bit. Emily has survived a rape in college that still haunts her years later. When she moves to Texas with her police chief husband, she finds herself amongst an elite group of Southern ladies full of secrets. The "whodunit" mystery was alright, and I was satisified with the ending. less

So glad to discover a new author and her second book is better than the first!
joy
A good story line, but some of the characters too contrived and stereotypical.

Eh. Didn't feel like it all really tied together at the end tbh.

A limitless too chick lit and not enough thriller for me.

It's The Devil in the Junior League meets Gone Girl.
