review 1: Note: I received an ARC for reviewThis book is a sexy, complex story full of both humor and poignant emotion. The story had me laughing uproariously in the beginning. Normally, misunderstandings between hero/heroine tend to be overdone and totally annoying, but Julie London wrote this story in such a skilled way that the confusion was hilarious. There were moments where I desperately wanted to dub Jeffrey (the hero) a jerk, but I just couldn't. He was so sweetly clueless about women as to be hysterical. I loved both Grace and Jeffrey and by the time I realized the battle this unlikely couple faced, I was rooting for them both to find a way through the madness to their Happily Ever After. One thing I desperately loved about this book was the incorporation of so much... more sense that translates with such importance into real life relationships. Honest communication and compromise were vital to this story, which is typically rare in historical romances. When the story got hot, it sizzled; when it became emotional, I melted. I strongly recommend this book for anyone seeking a unique escape into romance.
review 2: Love Julia London! Her books are great, and this was no disappointment. At first you think that this book will follow the traditional pattern of Historical Romance stories, but you will be surprised.Lord Merryton is not your typical "hero". We actually learn a lot about him, and that modern day problems were not as common back in the day. Some problems, like anxiety, was rare and might make people consider you "mad".Grace is so kind and very open-minded, which make her perfect for this story! I recommend this book for any and all Historical Romance lovers!I received my copy for review from Netgalley.com less
