review 1: This received a rating of 3.5 stars on my blog.I ended up having to put a book aside to finish at a later date and needed something to fill in the gap I had created. I felt myself starting to slide into reading slump territory so I had to find something that would be a quick, fun, easy read. Julie Halpern never fails to make me laugh, so I figured that I might as well pick up one of her books that I haven’t read yet. And it was perfect.I wasn’t quite sure how I was going to feel about Don’t Stop Now. Although I enjoy every Julie Halpern novel I read, the last one I read, The F-It List, fell a bit flat. It was a bit more serious and not as humorous as her other books. But Don’t Stop Now did not disappoint in the same way that The F-It List did. This is a road trip ... morenovel that every other road trip novel should aspire to be. I’ve read some that were more about the characters than the actual road trip, and while that can work, they are not what I’m wanting to read. Every stop they make on this trip is somewhere super quirky and ends up being just absolutely hilarious. And speaking of characters, I really liked the main characters in Don’t Stop Now, and I especially liked their relationship. They way they just bounced jokes and bits off of each other was in a true best friend kind of way. You can tell that the two know each other really well and have been together for a while. Their dialogue was just so great. It got to the point that I didn’t really care about the storyline involving the fake kidnapping, and I was glad that it didn’t take up the bulk of the novel. It just acts as the instigator for this road trip to take place.Don’t Stop Now is great if you’re looking for something light and fun to read. I would say that this is my second favorite of Julie Halpern’s novels, just behind Into the Wild Nerd Yonder (because none of her books will ever top that one).
review 2: Okay I was kind of irritated with Lil because she was hung up on Josh basically the whole book and just because she laid eyes on Ethan and found him attractive, she thought that she and HIM would have a future?! Okay.. So what about this guy aka your bestfriend aka the guy you've liked your whole high school life? You're just going to keep the platonic relationship when you can FINALLY take it further just because you look at someone else for about 2 hours. No. less

I guess all the calm discussions advocating respectful author-reader relations were for nothing, eh?

Useless, 10-word review: Hilarious banter, enjoyable despite flat and kind of obnoxious characters.

It was very slow and I expected more, but there were interesting parts every know and then.

Yikes. Did not know about the drama before I started this book!
