review 1: I'm not sure if it's the plot or the narrator, but I listened to this in less than a day - very unusual for me. This has been one of my favorite series that I've listened to in a long time. Julie James sure knows how to write a contemporary romance - I'm never disappointed. Brooke Parker is a fierce and determined lawyer working for The Sterling Group, which is a fast growing food and beverage company owning several restaurants. Her job is her life. She has gone through 3 boyfriends in less than 18 months. Cade Morgan is one of the top assistant US attorneys in Chicago who was a top football pick in college. Unfortunately, due to an injury, his football days were over.Cade needs Brooke to help him take down a corrupt US Senator by planting a bug in one of Sterling's... more restaurants. He offered her a favor in return. Cade and Brooke's chemistry sizzles from beginning to end. It is also refreshing how Ms. James includes some of our favorite characters from other books. I am looking forward to the next book in the series.
review 2: I was in the mood for a contemporary romance, but there is a ton of things that drive me batty about contemporary romance, but LUCKILY a friend had recommended this author (and I read a great review of a newer book of hers) so I decided to pick this up. It was FANTASTIC. None of the things I hate about contemporary romance - none of them. She was good at her job AND she knew it, and didn't apologize for it, or somehow have NO confidence in herself. (which is just one thing that can make me go bonkers) So... yeah, loved it. I borrowed from the library or bought all the rest of her books because they are all fantastic. less

I read this in the summer! Didn´t update, though. I don´t even know what prevented me from doing so. But I liked it - is all I can remember, really:D Because it was Julie James, Cade was not my favorite in the previous books, but he redeemed himself in this one (in my eyes, that is), I really liked his bromance with Vaughn, I did :D They had the funniest lines in the book :D All of the boys. It was sarcastic as ever, what more to say.

Since I started the series, this one had the least WOW factor. Not a bad read though.
