review 1: As someone who is diagnosed with depression and is medicated for it (among other mental problems), I thought that some of the descriptions were pretty accurate. I know that my family has had a hard time dealing with me sometimes. Lena reminded me a lot of my sister, who never cries, only we aren't quite as close as the sisters in this book, being 5 years apart. I think this book does a pretty good job on showing what it can be like for the families of people suffering from this illness, but at the same time it kinda makes me feel worse about what I'm going through because I feel like a burden.
review 2: The main character's sister is sick. And she has some trouble dealing with it. Take a teenager with problems at home, throw in a little romance, and you have a
... moreclassic formula for teenage literature. I am totally on board with this book. As an educator, this book \really reminded me to remember when I am dealing with my students that the time they spend in my classroom is really a tiny fraction of what they are dealing with. It's a reminder I need over and over again, I guess. I want them to think my class is a priority in their lives, but it's true that I'm deluding myself if I fail to account for all the other tough circumstances they may be living through. less

Loved it and it would have been a quick read, if I had more time, but I am not a fan of the ending

Totally not worth the read. Except the last sentence was good. That's all.
