review 1: The Sevenwaters books seem to slowly be moving from "I slowly fell for you without noticing as we shared experiences together" to "I meet this my soul mate and we're instantly in love". So the main character was not my favorite, and it had a little more of a romance bend than I normally like, but the book is written very well as they all are, and it deals with one of my favorite mythological areas (blame The Labyrinth I suppose) so I can forgive it the faults I found.
review 2: Clodagh (daughter of Sean and granddaughter of Sorcha who so endeared us to Sevenwarters in the original Daughter of the Forest), must undertake a perilous journey to the Otherworld to retrieve that which was so cruelly taken from Sevenwarters. She will test the limits of her courage and... more daring, she will learn of what strength she has and if the rumours of Fair Folk are true. Will her wisdom and her capacity for love see her through? Will she recover what was taken and return safe to Sevenwarters? I only discovered last year that Marillier had continued the epic Sevenwarters trilogy. Five years after is was first published. To begin with I was a little apprehensive about reading them, worried it would ruin Sevenwarters for me. Oh my gosh...I couldn't have been more wrong. I can not remember the last time I enjoyed a book so much that I didn't want to put it down. I sincerely hope the other two are just as enjoyable. less
