review 1: Things get tougher for Regan's Rebels and Neryn as the story continues in this book. Neryn has to learn how to be a Caller, and is still struggling with calling the Good Folk to help her fight. Ordering someone else to cause harm to another is not something she likes to do. Though when it comes to life and death she will do it, it still hurts and eats away at her afterwards.Flint is working very hard at stay in the Kings trust, but it seems that others dont trust him. Neryn is starting to be a chink in his armour...
review 2: In my opinion not as compelling a read as the first volume in the trilogy but nevertheless an entertaining well written story. The majority of characters added in the second volume are realistically portrayed in both description and person
... moreality, a few however miss the mark. Hard to put my finger on it but for a few it just didn't work for me, unrealistic and difficult to connect with. The story line is slightly slower than the first volume and though it isn't "padded out" I did find sections very slow. Still well worthy of three stars and I'll carry on into the final episode. less
