review 1: i couldn't decide, it was either a 2 or 3, so a 2.5 if goodreads had half starts ALREADY! Regardless the book, it was disappointing, honestly i realy like the first book, & reading this i was like:WHATTHE F ISHAPPENING?!?!?!?!?! Dez was so insecure throughout the whole book, & while i understand it, i was tired of it quickly. & Kale wasn't funny, & hot as the first book.:( & the girl,Jade who wants Kale so bad, OMG i get some people in the world aren't very nice, but this was to the point of unrealistic!! & yeah Idk MAYBE i'll read the next book, but my hopes have been let down...
review 2: Toxic is 100% not as good as the first part yet it was good and better than most YA novels I've been reading at the minute.Toxic takes up right where Tremble left off. After... more Dez's sacrifice to heal Kale they realize *gasp* they can't touch anymore! Dez doesn't die straight away like others but gets a sort of heat that leads to pain. They can have a quick peck and cheek touch occasionally.That annoying old lady, forgot her name. Anyway she brings someone in who can help Kale learn to control his death touch leading to Dez and Kale being able to touch again. This enters the worst thing Accardo could of done. A fucking love triangle was made. To be fair Kale never once said he was interested and actually told Dez this but still, old lady forcing Jade and Kale to spend alone time together and Jade pushing the fact they could touch all the time was annoying. FYI, Kale does kiss Jade. Some find it bad but me I get it. Kale is not a normal guy, he was locked up his whole life and doesn't understand what is deemed socially acceptable (like saying a girls hair smells on the bus which actually got me laughing) He knew Dez was there using her friend invisibility and then he kissed Jade to show Dez that he still wanted her even though he could kiss and touch Jade strangely I find this kind of cute.I hated the love triangle though and the stupid old lady and the fact Dez's mum never stood up against the old lady. I mean it's your daughter if you don't agree say something jesus.Also Dez and Kale make more sacrifices not that I even though that was possible but actually it is. less
