review 1: A strange tale of mystery, betrayal, death and magic that shows the reader that in Evans world nothing is what it seems. Evan is conflicted character who cares the burden of protect the ones he love since a tragic accident has left him slightly crippled and strong enemies who want to hurt not only him but those he treasures most. He faced with secrets from his past while discovering the twisted path leading to his and the callings future. This a pretty good book and I am happy I read it and I suggest you try it out for yourself and form your own opinions.
review 2: I won this book through Justin Blaney's sweepstakes and I am very very satisfied. I really enjoyed Evan Burl! I thought it was a very original story, that just kept you guessing and wanting more. The
... morere was amazing character development and plot twist. Some parts were confusing as it jumped from different point of views, language and magical term, but it made the story that much more interesting. The ending is great and ties in with the beginning of the book but is a total cliffhanger. It leaves you hungry for more and I can't wait for the second book to come out. To see where Evan, Claire, Henri and the Roslings end up landing after the fall... less
