review 1: This is a fun page-turner, equally ideal for summer holidays or winter evening escapism. Well informed and insightful observations about bankers and their nefarious behaviour. The writing is smooth and witty, the characters ooze satire and the plot is both serious and farcical, ridiculing the establishment and what they deem to be important. Several characters coincide and collide with clever subplots which keep the reader engaged. It is an easy read, full of irony and black humour, taking fair shots at the wealthy banking elite and the snobbish arts world, as characterised by the hilarious larger than life character of Artair McCleod.
