review 1: It started out very interesting. I mean, I was debating whether or not to put it down or not. But then again, I only do that with extremely boring books. It wasn't exactly a good book. I wouldn't recommend anyone to read it. This book wasn't funny but it wasn't serious. I didn't get the part where the two girls got rid of their two fairies. It was very confusing. I didn't like this book yet I didn't hate it.
review 2: This was a fun, light read, set in a barely futuristic, different sort of society. Kids are heavily tracked into their interest and talent areas in New Avalon, which is run on a sort of cult of personality/achievement. I definitely wanted to know more about the other cities in this universe, and why New Avalon was the way it was. Charlie's quest
... more- to get rid of her special fairy because too many people want to use her because of it- is kind of annoying. The writing, the world building in particular, was nearly excellent. Worth picking up for sure. less
