review 1: Hmmmmm... this was an enjoyable instalment in the series, but somehow not quite as good as the first two. I still like Jesse, but I didn't get nearly such a strong sense of him as a character that I did in the first two. And a LOT of ends have been left loose too, which makes me hope that this isn't the end of the series (... goes to consult Google .... nope, apparently there are at least 3 more in the series coming)The banter and snark were still there though, which meant I definitely had fun reading it. I also maintain that someone, somewhere has to have written a crossover that has him teaming up with Harry. The snark alone would be worth reading the fic for.
review 2: This series is getting more and more interesting. Axel has called in his favor and Jes... morese, being the honorable champion that he is, must obey. I was intrigued by the idea of Jesse working for the other side and I was hoping that there would be more of Axel's sly manipulations throughout the story, but no such luck. The story, for the most part, didn't need him though. Still there was some predictability here, (I knew whodunnit right away and was a little frustrated by the obviousness of it), but the pace and action and sheer likeability of the characters kept the story going for me. I did not expect the outcome of the final conflict (which was another reason why I can forgive the earlier predictability). Jesse has got some changes going on and I am very much looking forward to the next installment. less
