review 1: Ugh, this book.Maybe I have high standards..but I could not, for the life of me, get into it. It had potential, it could have been a great read, and I was actually pretty excited about it to be honest. But thats the problem- the only intriguing thing about this book is the synopsis. Which is the only reason I made it to about 30% before calling it quits, hoping it would get better at some point and that juuuust maybe I was judging it too harshly. I wasn't.I don't understand why it has such good ratings.
review 2: I really loved this book except for one thing. Ryanne is a total Mary Sue. I'm sorry, but it's like she's just perfect. She's crazy talented at art, piano, and singing. She is crazy beautiful and someone reminds her of it every five seconds. She's craz
... morey strong and has super powerful abilities. I mean, I get that she's powerful because she's the chosen one. And okay, she's a great artist, no problem. But seriously? The whole piano and singing thing was really pushing it. And must someone remind her how beautiful she is every five seconds? I hate the way all the guys are wrapped around her finger. I know Colton's the only one in love with her, but all the guys treat her like she's God's gift to humankind. Emma and Claire are the only ones who treat her normally: most of the time. She is also extremely clueless. And very insecure. And she's always sitting on guys' laps, cuddling with guys, but apparently she's not flirting or anything. And Colton doesn't get mad over this? A character like Ryanne simply wouldn't exist in real life. The author made it so she was perfect: that she can never do any wrong. I love Ryanne, but the author stretched the good things about Ryanne. A lot. Regardless of all this, I still loved Ryanne. Everyone has that one friend: the one who's crazy immature, hilarious, and can always make you smile. The one who's always laughing and blabbering about magical worlds and pizza. The kind of friend that is just so innocent, the kind that you want to protect simply because she's lovable and fun. In my case, I don't have that friend simply because I am that friend. It's not a bad thing, or a good thing, it's just the way it is. And my friends certainly don't treat me the way everyone treats Ryanne. If my friends started to treat me like that, I'd check my calendar to make sure it wasn't April Fools' Day. Regardless of all this, I still loved Ryanne. She reminds me a lot like myself- minus the perfection and how she's just a little bit dumb. I found myself laughing several times during the book at her comments and tactics. I love her, she is such an amazing character. I just think the author pushed her perfection way too much. To sum it up, this book was amazing. It was a very enjoyable read, and I seriously loved it. The only thing I hated was Ryanne's perfection. Other than that that, it was amazing. Seriously. Four stars. less

The potential for a solid plot was there. This novel was in serious need of some editing.
