review 1: A solid shifter sequel to the series.The shifter world that is shared with the readers is very vividly described and there is shifter content which I found fascinating, including the way werewolf packs interacted with each other on a national scale.What did not appeal to me as much was the romance between Aaron and his younger love interest. The situation wasn't helped by the slow development of their relationship either. All in all, I wasn't as invested with Aaron's romance as I was in the first book.Nevertheless, there is an intriguing aspect to the world described in this series and I will most likely continue to read the next book based solely on that interest.
review 2: What I liked about the first one I liked in this one. The more down to earth paranormal... more aspects where there isn't super powers or destine mates is really great. This book doesn't seem as focused as the first book as there a few different plot lines going on. First in fighting for gay werewolves and Simon and Paul to be accepted in the werewolf community, then shifting into humans finding out. I can kind of see what was going on with the dual problems and interlacing them together but I wish that there had only been one major problem to focus on.I did feel like there wasn't enough time spent on Aaron and Zach's relationship since they were running around putting out fires. What there was of it was interesting since Zach is such a trouble child in a lot of ways and Aaron has so much on his plate as it is. I did feel like Zach had change through the book from where he was at the beginning then at the end, but I didn't feel like there was enough time spent on the journey to that point. less
