review 1: Misao's due date is rapidly approaching and while Kyo still hasn't given up on trying to save Misao, he realizes that what he should be doing now is enjoying all the time that he has with her, instead of doing nothing but searching for a way to preserve her. But in the previous volume, Kyo saved Misao's mother and she saw his tengu wings! Misao's mother does not mention anything, but she has been testing Kyo. This looms over their heads, and right when Misao tries to force herself to tell her mother, her mother gives her blessing and all is once again happy. But it won't stay that way forever, or will it? Because with Misao's due date already passed she will have the baby at any moment now, but will this really mean the end of her life...? Or will true love find a way..?**... morespoiler alert: do not proceed if you have not finished the manga**I so should have read this March 5th, the day I bought it. Why didn't I? I'm pretty sure it was because I was scared... BUT FOR GOOD REASON! I CANNOT BELIEVE THE (MULTIPLE) ENDING(S)! QxQ When Misao went into labor and far, far after, they had me crying!! OMG, BUT THEY TRICKED ME. IT WASN'T THAT WAY AT ALL. I mean-- it sort of was. Looking back on it, Kanoko Sakurakoji-sensei kind of helped the reader feel the same way all of the main characters did by the way she led us through the ending. All of us, the readers, and the characters, felt the crushing loss of Misao. The expected, and yet completely unexpected crushing blow of her death. Everyone thought it was no hope, nobody even thought to hope, except for Kyo. Kyo showed us that him and Misao, that their love, is a light of this world called a miracle, and that nobody can touch it. It warms all of our hearts, and nothing will ever crush it. From the very first volume, up to even the extras at the end of the book, this has been a series that has perfectly shown that childhood first love won't ever go away, but it cannot become a true love unless it grows in the hearts of two people who genuinely love each for that person. This series has shown that true love doesn't come naturally, but it will after it is born, but until then, you have to nurture it and fight for it. Even after that, you have to fight to keep it in your arms in this harsh world full of obstacles, but as long as your love has been born true you won't want to do anything but fight for it, and in doing so, it will never die and neither will the lovebirds ever have to face being apart forever. At this point, I'm scared to read back at all my free writing up there, heh. I'll just post it as it is, typos and all. I won't read it this time either. Love is a crazy thing, isn't it? I'm so happy that this manga conveys it so well and in a modern sense as well. I'm glad that Misao finally got to go to the beach with her new family too. c:
review 2: I finished this last month and forgot to update but it was the perfect way to end the series. Sho is the cutest thing and Misao is alive. She brings life and love to Kyo since he is still recovering. It was heartwarming, lovely and give family and loyalty a whole new meaning. Love conquers all even in death. Oh and the last little screenplay had me dying. taro being a brat was the most hilarious and adorable thing. I've been with this series for years and I'm glad I've randomly found it because it has been one of my favorite manga ever. less

I'm not sure if I didn't like the ending or if I just didn't want it to end.
