review 1: A gripping and compelling tale about the life of the Tudors during the reign of King Henry VIII. This is somewhat more original since it is told from the POV Katherine Ashley, the governess of Princess Elizabeth, and not the other Tudors or Henry's many many wives. She's somewhat of a shadow in their world since no one knows anything about her background, so a story written about her and from her POV was a really good read. Recommended for anyone who wants to read a cozy historical story with some romance mixed in.
review 2: I've noticed Kat Ashley was ever present around Elizabeth especially before she became queen, so it was interesting to read a novel from Kat's perspective. I started to understand better the dangers that Elizabeth faced in the successio
... moren to the throne, in her being the figurehead for protestantism, and for being labeled both a princess and a bastard. Anne Boleyn was killed when Elizabeth was a young toddler, so Kat Ashley was both Elizabeth's governess and her mother figure. less

Interesting depiction, I mostly like the first person narrative and the detail in her point of view.
