review 1: I loved the idea of this book. I enjoyed the characters, I liked the world of Cygnus Beta and the way the different people try to come together to build a world honoring their differences. But, I wanted MORE! I had a difficult time connecting with this author's writing style and I wanted her to spend more time developing the characters, not just telling me what happened. I was disappointed but I think that's because I had such high hopes for this story.
review 2: I have mixed feelings about this book. I did enjoy the story and the characters; however, at times I felt that the story was a bit abrupt (i.e., sometimes something would just happen and I didn't feel that everything flowed). Also, I felt the main character, Grace, was written a bit uneven. She seemed ... moreto be two different people. Finally, I wish there hadn't been any references to 21st century Earth, because they broke me out of the story. less
