review 1: Harlem on Lock is predictable and formulaic (Like, I didn't know what was going to happen to her dog Lady as soon as she got her). It made me feel like I read it before. Which, I didn't. It was just the same story being told with different characters. A smart young girl from the projects grows up in poverty. Her parents are both addicted to drugs. The mother eventually overdoses, leaving her alone with her father. Who proceeds to rape and prostitute her. Just when things can't get any worse, she meets Chief. It's an enjoyable and quick read. Nothing too deep. Which is what makes it a good read.
review 2: Harlem on lock is one of the most loovable, heartbreaking, sad and relieving book i have ever read.karen williams really touched me with this story about a gir
... morel who's life was ruined by her drug addicted parents. It showed how heartless people can be and it also showed how god has a plan for everyone. It showed that love can be in the places you least expect it and how there is love out there for anyone and that your looks or how much money you have its all about who you are on the inside. less
