review 1: This book was provided for free by the author in exchange for an honest review, through Don't Buy My Love. One of the best books I read this week.- I wondered why the alpha of the city pack was interested in Noah after all this time. - I wondered why the old alpha had made a mating pact with Noah's father, for one of the children. Wouldn't the old alpha have waned to reproduce to father the next alpha? Wouldn't he already have children of his own who might not want to be mated to one of the siblings n Noah's family?Noah has been the cause of upheaval in the pack before. His family rearranged their lives because of Noah's medical needs. While he didn't ask for it, many people both human and shifter, are invested in his future and his decisions.I liked Noah and his siste... morer Lydia. His father and brother Mikael cared for him physically and as a loved one. Wade still seems to be establishing himself with the pack, or can be easily toppled. It took a while for me to like Wade, because I started out suspicious of his motives. I enjoyed the developing relationship between Noah and Wade. Noah was also learning about begin a shifter. There are things he would have learned from his family, but had not yet participated in. though maybe the need to stay covered with Wade's scent is not something that would have been discussed around the dinner table, for instance.Shifter books are not my usual choice, so I am glad that I made an exception for Pretty Poison.
review 2: This book reminded me just why I love shifter stories so much. While in some ways they are so human in others not at all. Kari Gregg has given us two wonderful main characters, who make one beautiful couple. First I met Noah a sweet, sadly disabled young man, who tugged at my heart. He has been in tortuous pain since he fell 8 stories when he was four years old. Followed by Wade, the seemingly cold, heartless, new alpha of the pack that Noah's family has spent many years protecting him from. One so weak and vulnerable and the other so strong and threatening. Or are they? I also got acquainted with Noah's family, his dad, sister, brothers and brother-in-law. As well as Fletcher,Trudy, Grace, Mia & Chase in Wade's pack. I only wish I could have gotten to know some of them more. Ms. Gregg made me laugh and cry while weaving me through this tale of what it really means to be strong and to love someone. There is so much that I want to say but I don't dare spoil this terrific story that I highly suggest you read for yourself.I received this book from the Author through the m/m romance group's Don't Buy Me Love Program in exchange for an honest review. less

Nice. Not quite at the level of "Field Guide", but still a fun read.
