review 1: This book was just as good as the 1st one. I still didn't like Ashline, and I was still okay with that. There's lots of action, lots of diverse mythology, and lots of character death. In other words, lots of feels. I think Embers and Echoes was a really strong follow up to Wildefire, and I look forward to reading Afterglow! I also liked that we got more background on the Cloak in this book. Very compelling read!
