review 1: Narumi Watson 4-21-2014ELA TYWLSEmbers & Echoes Vs. Click OK, I know the title is cheesy and all but all I want is to get my point across (not like anyone Is going against me or anything . . . I HOPE) but back to what I was saying. This is about ways the “Click- Chapter One- Maggie” by Linda Sue Park , and “Embers & Echoes’ by Karsten Knight.effected me. O.o 1) The Similarity that (which is very obvious if you read both books, I totally recomend 20 out of 10) is both Main characters are Female ( Maggie and Ashline) that both have si... moreblings but they are both very much opposite from each other to the point I’m just like . . . AWESOME TO THE MAX XD. a) Ashline is very outgoing, curious, very brave ,sarcastic ,judgemental, and also a HUGE risk taker with her life (Just like Katniss from the Hunger games). On the other hand Maggie is very serious, independent, quiet, thinks before she does anything and intellectual, Same like the girl in Haruhi Suzumiya, Yuki. b) Ashline is the oldest sibling ( Like meh :3) thats looking for her lost little sister even if it costs her life, Which is so Amazing because it shows she really cares for her family. . . well to me .But Maggie is the Youngest sibling has to watch her older brother that is way too busy with is friends and job to take care of her. I Think that’s So messed up that he does that because if that was me I would cut ties with him! It makes me soo angry that he does that like UGH. Like what the H man??!! Are you even human? Huh! Ugh just Ugh. c) Maggie is very close to her grandfather that I think is so sweet and cute ( Never going to happen to me though) that had just recently died, which broke her heart really badly, Even Mine that I felt like Lava was rushing down my face just like in a race and I don’t even know this guy! ALSO Especially that he had something for her to get AFTER he died to remember him. This was the part I started to cry more because I thought that was so adorable and makes me want to do that for my grandkids when I die ( or maybe stalk them when I’m a ghost >:D)Ashline is not close to anyone, she is just trying to find her sister for because… well DUH its her sister ( like katniss). Who wouldn’t . . . actually I take that back because there are cruel people in the world ya Know. 2) Another HUGE differences were the Settings. a) In the book click- chapter One Maggie, the setting stays in maggies house but changes rooms overtime. But in Ember & Echoes, Ashline moves place to place very quickly, Most of the time she is in different settings except Wes’s House ( her boy friend, wink wink) b) Ashline moves place to place in order to meet people to get connections to find her sister but the setting doesn't fit well with the character for me but… It fits well with the story Like Maybe if the character was more WILD and a PARRRTAYY person then yep it would fit perfect like a Puzzle :D I can’t say much about the setting in click ,Maggie moves places to show the type of person she is, She moves from the noisy living room to the quiet attic . The setting fits well with the story and character very well. ._.In conclusion, I would highly recommend to read both book because they are full of emotion and its a book that is Really hard to put down, No like seriously, like you can’t put it down. That’s the power of these books.
review 2: I actually liked this book better than the original, and that doesn't happen all too often. I cared about the characters much more in this one and the drama that went on it did not seem nearly as cliché or boring as in the first one. There was more action and more saving the day than ever before, and I liked getting a closer look at Ash's volcano Goddess powers, as well as some things being revealed and explained. It cleared up a lot and entertained me at the same time. This is def worth a re-read! :) less
